Sony Singapore Now Accepts USDC Payments via Crypto.com

Edited by: Yuliya Shumai

In Singapore, Sony Store Online began accepting USDC payments on Tuesday, marking Sony's initial foray into direct crypto transactions locally. This is enabled through Crypto.com's payment service. Customers can now use USDC, a stablecoin pegged to the U.S. dollar, for purchases exclusively on the Sony Store Online via Crypto.com's system. With a circulating supply of $60.06 billion, USDC is the second-largest stablecoin after Tether's USDT. Sony plans to add support for more cryptocurrencies in the future. This move aligns with Sony's broader integration of blockchain and Web3 technologies, including its Soneium Ethereum layer-2 network. Crypto.com also recently signed an agreement to launch crypto-focused ETFs, including Bitcoin-related offerings.
