France Accelerates Crypto Strategy with €25 Million Investment via Bpifrance

Edited by: Yuliya Shumai

On Thursday, French public investment bank Bpifrance announced an accelerated crypto investment strategy, committing up to €25 million ($27 million) to support French crypto companies and venture capitalists. This initiative, dubbed "pioneering among sovereign wealth funds," aims to invest directly in blockchain-linked business models, including DeFi, DePINs, tokenization, and Layer 1/2/3 chains, receiving tokens instead of equity. Bpifrance Deputy CEO Arnaud Caudoux emphasized the urgency of this move, citing the United States' accelerating crypto strategy and the need to keep French crypto companies within the European ecosystem. Bpifrance has already invested over €150 million in blockchain projects and supported 200 French startups over the last decade.
