On Sunday, U.S. President Donald Trump announced the creation of a U.S. Crypto Strategic Reserve, initially naming XRP, Solana (SOL), and Cardano (ADA) as key components. The announcement, made on Truth Social, caused these cryptocurrencies to surge in value, with XRP up nearly 30% and ADA skyrocketing by 52% at one point. Trump's plan, stemming from his January executive order, aims to position the U.S. as the "Crypto Capital of the World," contrasting with the previous administration's regulatory approach. Later, Trump clarified that Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) would also be "at the heart of the Reserve." The market responded positively, with Bitcoin up around 8% at $90,828 and Ether up 8.3% at $2,409. The structure of the reserve remains unclear, with legal experts debating the need for Congressional approval versus utilizing the U.S. Treasury's Exchange Stabilization Fund. Trump is scheduled to host the first White House Crypto Summit this Friday.
