NVIDIA is significantly investing in Taiwan's technology infrastructure and has introduced a new AI supercomputer in the country. The announcement was made by CEO Jensen Huang at Computex 2025 in Taipei.
Huang unveiled the NVLink Fusion system, designed to enhance chip-to-chip communication. NVIDIA is partnering with local manufacturers and the National Center for High-Performance Computing (NCHC) to promote advancements in quantum research. The company is also establishing a local office complex to serve as its overseas headquarters, near Taipei.
Built by ASUS, the new AI supercomputer will feature over 1,700 NVIDIA GPUs. This infrastructure will support projects in climate science, quantum research, and the development of large language models. Academic institutions, government agencies, and small businesses in Taiwan will have access to the new system to accelerate their projects. The supercomputer is expected to go live later this year, offering up to 8x the AI performance of its predecessor.
