Edited by: Olga Sukhina

Google has partnered with Commonwealth Fusion Systems (CFS) to support the development of a grid-scale fusion power plant in Chesterfield County, Virginia. This is Google's first commercial commitment to fusion energy.

The ARC facility is projected to generate 400 megawatts of clean electricity, with Google purchasing 200 megawatts. The plant is expected to begin operations in the early 2030s.

This partnership includes an increased investment by Google in CFS. A community meeting is scheduled for July 14, 2025, at the Bensley Recreation Center in Chesterfield.
