Nepal's Only Billionaire Binod Chaudhary: From Textiles to Wai Wai Noodles Empire

Edited by: Olga Sukhina

Binod Chaudhary, Nepal's sole billionaire and chairman of CG Corp Global, the company behind Wai Wai noodles, initially took over his family's textile business due to his father's illness. His success with Wai Wai noodles propelled him to global recognition. Often referred to as the 'Noodle King,' Chaudhary's estimated net worth is around $1.7 billion - $2 billion. His assets include a controlling stake in Nabil Bank and a chain of luxury hotels in partnership with the Taj hotel chain. CG Corp Global has a diverse portfolio with interests in financial services, consumer goods, education, hospitality and more. CG Corp Global has expanded its reach to over 141 hotels and resorts across 12 countries. Chaudhary's journey from a textile trader's grandson to a billionaire is a story of vision and ambition. Wai Wai noodles, launched four decades ago in Kathmandu, is now the third-largest brand in India. Chaudhary is planning to list his conglomerate's India food unit by 2026.
