Australian-based Cortical Labs has launched the CL1, a bio-computer priced at $35,000. This system uniquely merges silicon chips with living brain neurons, offering a blend of AI-based artificial neurons and synthetic biological intelligence. Deliveries are slated to begin in three months. The CL1 includes an environmental containment unit to sustain the neurons for up to six months and features a Biological Intelligence Operating System (biOS) that simulates a world for the neurons, impacting their impulses. The company's tagline for the CL1 is that it is "the world's first code deployable biological computer."
