Emirates NBD Leads with ISSB Report and Banca Transilvania Finalizes OTP Bank Merger, Strengthening Market Position in Romania and Moldova

Dubai, UAE: Emirates NBD has published its first independent IFRS S1 and S2 report for 2024, demonstrating transparency and accountability in sustainability reporting. The report includes assurance of financed emissions and complies with International Sustainability Standards Board (ISSB) guidelines. Emirates NBD is the first bank in the MENA region to publish an ISSB-compliant report. In Romania, Banca Transilvania (BT) has finalized its merger with OTP Bank Romania, consolidating its market leadership with a 23% market share. The merger increases BT's assets by 9% and its loan portfolio by 13%. Simultaneously, Victoriabank, part of Banca Transilvania Group, merged with BCR Chișinău in Moldova. These mergers contribute to the consolidation of the banking markets in both Romania and Moldova.
