A unique juvenile Ceratosaurus fossil will be auctioned in New York on July 16, 2025. Public viewings of the remarkable specimen will begin on July 8. This marks the first time the fossil, discovered in Wyoming in 1996, will be mounted.
The Ceratosaurus, standing over 6 feet tall and nearly 11 feet long, is composed of 139 original bone elements. It is the only known juvenile of its kind. The dinosaur lived during the Late Jurassic period, approximately 154 to 159 million years ago.
