Scottish Island Shuna Listed for Sale at £5.5 Million

Edited by: alya myart

The private Scottish island of Shuna, off the west coast, is up for sale for the first time in nearly 80 years, with an asking price of £5.5 million (approximately €6.4 million). The island spans about 400 hectares and includes eight dwellings, a ruined castle, and diverse natural landscapes.

The Gully family has owned Shuna since 1946. Currently, seven of the eight houses are rented as holiday homes, accommodating up to 52 people. Access is by boat from Arduaine harbor, and the island uses solar panels and generators for power, as it is not connected to the main electricity grid.

The ruined Shuna Castle, built in 1911, offers spectacular views and could be restored. The island's varied landscape includes native forests, grazing land, sandy beaches, and rocky shores. Wildlife includes red deer, fallow deer, seals, and dolphins. The sale attracts those seeking a private retreat or investors interested in eco-tourism.
