A painting of Oasis brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher by American artist Elizabeth Peyton will be auctioned in London on June 25, 2025, coinciding with the band's reunion tour. The artwork, titled "Liam + Noel (Gallagher)," is expected to fetch between £2 million and £2.69 million at Sotheby's Modern & Contemporary Evening Auction.
The painting, inspired by a promotional photo from the previous year, depicts the brothers in a rare moment of intimacy. This image was created shortly after Oasis's historic Knebworth shows. Liam rests his chin on Noel's shoulder, a gesture directly referencing the original photo.
Formed in the early 1990s, Oasis rose to global fame with their album "(What's the Story) Morning Glory?" However, public feuds between Liam and Noel became as legendary as their music. The band officially ended in 2009. The upcoming reunion tour, titled "Oasis Live '25," has already seen tickets for the first shows in Cardiff sell out.
