Edited by: alya myart

A handwritten letter from John Lennon to his future wife, Cynthia Powell, is set to go under the hammer at Christie's in London on July 9, 2025. The letter, penned in 1962, offers a rare glimpse into Lennon's personal life during The Beatles' residency at the Star-Club in Hamburg.

The intimate letter reveals Lennon's affectionate and humorous side. He expresses his longing for Cynthia, writing, "I love love love you and I'm missing you like mad..." It also details everyday life with his bandmates, including a complaint about Paul McCartney's snoring.

The letter also touches on the death of Stuart Sutcliffe and the prospect of Cynthia sharing an apartment with McCartney's girlfriend. The auction estimate ranges from £30,000 to £40,000. Lennon and Powell married in August 1962 and divorced in 1968.
