Dodge challenger 'black ghost' fetches $120k at auction

A limited-edition 2023 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody "Black Ghost" sold for $120,000 at auction. This rare gem, one of only 300, pays tribute to Godfrey Qualls' iconic 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T SE.

The "Black Ghost" earned its name on Detroit's Woodward Avenue in the 70s, driven by Qualls, a street racing legend. This modern version boasts a Pitch Black exterior, white stripe, and a faux alligator skin roof. It was even used by Dodge as a promotional vehicle.

With only 86 miles, the car features a supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi V8, producing 807 horsepower. Other amenities include HID headlights, a Harman Kardon sound system, and Black Laguna leather upholstery. Its original MSRP was $104,865, making the auction price a significant jump.
