In a tribute to the late music legend Udo Jürgens, two of his luxury cars were auctioned off by Sotheby's from January 23 to 30. The auction featured a 2007 Bentley Continental GTC and a 2012 Mercedes R-Class, drawing significant interest from fans and collectors.

Despite lacking valid TÜV certification, the cars attracted numerous bids, with the Bentley ultimately selling for an impressive €132,000. The Mercedes found a new owner for €33,600.

Jürgens, who passed away a decade ago, remains one of the most successful German-speaking artists, with over 100 million records sold. His iconic songs, such as 'Ich war noch niemals in New York' and 'Aber bitte mit Sahne,' continue to resonate with fans. He died suddenly on December 21, 2014, during a walk near Lake Constance, just two weeks after his last sold-out concert.

The Bentley, a dark blue convertible boasting 560 horsepower, can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.1 seconds. Jürgens drove the car for approximately 79,000 kilometers, having originally purchased it for €192,000 in 2006. The Mercedes, on the other hand, has 387 horsepower.

In addition to the cars, personal items from Jürgens' estate were also auctioned, including Montblanc and Cartier pens, a desk, ties, artwork, and numerous awards, such as 'Bambi' and 'Golden Camera' accolades. A standout item was a transparent concert grand piano, which sold for €240,000.
