Engaging in cultural activities significantly enhances the well-being and longevity of individuals aged 60 and over. A recent study emphasizes the importance of cultural participation for seniors, highlighting its role in reducing isolation, stimulating cognitive function, and fostering a sense of belonging. * **Social Connection:** Cultural events provide opportunities for seniors to connect with others, reducing social isolation and strengthening social bonds. * **Cognitive Stimulation:** Involvement in cultural activities keeps the brain active, promoting learning, creativity, and overall cognitive health. * **Identity and Belonging:** Culture preserves and transmits traditions, values, and stories, strengthening the sense of belonging and promoting respect for cultural diversity. The study, "Culture in the Capitals," surveyed Brazilians over 16 across 14 cultural activities, revealing that seniors are increasingly active in cultural consumption. This research aims to inform public policies and encourage cultural sector entrepreneurs to develop solutions tailored to the needs of the aging population, recognizing the growing "longevity economy."
