Discover Giverny: Guided Tours Through Monet's Inspiration

Edited by: Елена 11

The town of Giverny, in the Eure region of France, is world-renowned as the home of Impressionist painter Claude Monet from 1883 until his death in 1926. Tourists strolling through the gardens of Giverny encounter the sources of his most celebrated inspirations, such as water lilies and Japanese bridges. They often take the opportunity to wander through the village's narrow streets, lined with numerous half-timbered houses.

Every Sunday morning from May to August, starting at 10 AM, the Office de Tourisme Nouvelle Normandie offers guided tours to discover the village. Participants, accompanied by a guide, will trace the history of Giverny, from its rural origins to the arrival of Claude Monet. They will also learn about Monet's role in the emergence of the American artist colony.

From the former Hotel Baudy to the Sainte-Radegonde Church, passing by Claude Monet's House and Gardens, this tour invites you to discover Giverny's iconic landmarks. The tour evokes the significant episodes and figures that have shaped the identity of this now-mythical village. This guided immersion into the heart of Giverny's history and timeless charm is not to be missed.

Please note that the guided tour of Giverny does not include visits to Claude Monet's House and Gardens or the Musée des Impressionnismes Giverny. The tour focuses on the village itself and its historical and artistic significance.
