Capri Launches Boat Waste Collection Service to Protect Marine Ecosystems

Edited by: Ainet

Capri is taking steps to protect its pristine waters. A new waste collection service for boats and yachts has been launched. This initiative aims to mitigate the environmental impact of nautical tourism. The Capri Servizi, responsible for urban cleanliness, has initiated a trial service. It will collect properly sorted waste from boats anchored around the island. This service is in response to requests from industry operators. The service will operate three days a week. Boats using maritime agents can book a collection with Capri Servizi. This system prevents waste from being dumped in the port area. Capri's mayor, Paolo Falco, hailed the service as a significant improvement. He stated that it enhances the tourist experience for boat owners. It also reduces the environmental impact of waste, preserving marine ecosystems.
