Vande Bharat Sleeper Trains: New Production Line Launched in West Bengal

Titagarh Rail Systems Limited, in collaboration with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, has launched a new production line for Vande Bharat Sleeper trains in Uttarpara, West Bengal. This marks a significant step in enhancing India's rail infrastructure.

The initiative is part of a substantial Rs 24,000 crore contract with Indian Railways. The contract covers the design, manufacturing, and maintenance of 80 Vande Bharat train sets over 35 years. The launch was attended by key figures from TRSL and BHEL, highlighting the importance of this partnership.

These Vande Bharat trains are set to transform long-distance travel in India. They offer semi-high-speed capabilities and modern amenities. The Uttarpara facility utilizes Industry 4.0 technology and robotic production to increase its annual capacity from 300 to 850 coaches, meeting the growing demand for advanced rail travel.
