Doha's Old Doha Port is now home to the inaugural Fishing Exhibition, a four-day event celebrating maritime heritage and modern angling. Opened yesterday, the exhibition promises a blend of tradition and innovation, showcasing local and regional fishing brands, interactive experiences, live maritime performances, and a thrilling fishing competition. CEO of Old Doha Port, Eng. Mohammed Abdullah Al Mulla, highlighted the event's significance, stating it aims to become the leading annual destination for sea-goers, offering a comprehensive range of fishing products and services. With over 30 exhibitors and more than 150 local and regional brands, the exhibition serves as a specialized platform for experienced anglers and those new to fishing adventures. The exhibition features a variety of interactive activities and live artistic performances, including competitions with prizes worth over QR300,000. Attendees can also sample traditional Qatari-inspired foods and view displays of the latest maritime products. Eng. Al Mulla emphasized the event's role in supporting marine sports and activities, transforming the port into a vibrant destination for events and competitions. He also noted the exhibition's connection to Qatar's deep-rooted maritime culture and heritage. The Fishing Exhibition coincides with the start of the fishing season in the region, making it an ideal destination for sea lovers to prepare for the season. The exhibition is open to the public daily from 4pm to 9pm at Mina Park, south of Mina District, Old Doha Port, until April 12, with free entry.
