Florida Couple Embarks on 15-Year Cruise Adventure: Selling Home to Live Aboard Villa Vie Odyssey

Edited by: Елена 11

Oakland Park residents Jim and Chris Guld are trading their land-based life for an extraordinary 15-year adventure aboard the Villa Vie Odyssey cruise ship. The couple, seasoned travelers who previously spent 14 years exploring the United States in an RV, are selling their home to embrace full-time life at sea. Their journey begins on April 20 in Cartagena, Colombia, where they'll board the ship for what they anticipate will be at least seven years of continuous global exploration. The Villa Vie Odyssey offers an itinerary that includes stops at 425 ports in over 140 countries during its 3.5-year "Continual World Cruise." The Gulds were drawn to the Villa Vie Odyssey for its unique concept of affordable, long-term residential cruising. They plan to continue their work as "Geeks on Tour," creating computer training videos and sharing their experiences with their online community. The ship's Starlink internet service will allow them to stay connected and productive while traveling the world. While initially considering a balcony cabin, the Gulds opted for a 140-square-foot stateroom with a window, finding it a more budget-friendly option. They are excited about the onboard amenities, including exercise classes, diverse dining options, and entertainment, as well as the opportunity to engage with a community of like-minded travelers. Life aboard the Villa Vie Odyssey promises a unique blend of travel, community, and continuous learning, as residents share their expertise through seminars and talks. The Gulds are eager to embrace this new chapter, proving that adventure knows no age.
