Ethiopian Airlines is set to launch a new passenger flight service to Porto, Portugal, starting July 2, 2025. The flight, ET740/741, will operate four times a week using the B787 Dreamliner, with a stopover in Madrid, Spain. This new route aims to provide travelers with more options and seamless connectivity, furthering Ethiopian Airlines' expansion in Europe.
Flight ET740 departs Addis Ababa on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays at 23:10, arriving in Madrid at 05:55 the next day, before continuing to Porto. The return flight, ET741, departs Porto on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at 19:55, arriving back in Addis Ababa via Madrid.
According to Ato Mesfin Tasew, Group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, the new route underscores the airline's commitment to providing passengers with more travel options and seamless connectivity to vibrant cities like Porto. Ethiopian Airlines already operates approximately 140 weekly passenger flights to 22 destinations in Europe, along with serving 8 cargo destinations.
