Turkey and Uzbekistan have signed a 'Letter of Intent and Action Plan' in the field of tourism, aiming to strengthen cooperation and increase tourist flow between the two countries. The agreement was signed by Turkish Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy and Uzbek Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change Aziz Abdukhakimov. Minister Ersoy noted a significant increase in air traffic between the two countries recently and expressed the goal of sustaining this growth through joint efforts. He highlighted Uzbekistan's rich historical and cultural heritage, including cities like Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva, as major attractions for tourists worldwide. The plan includes increasing the number of flights to existing destinations, adding new destinations to flight schedules, and encouraging both national and other airlines to operate flights between the countries. Minister Abdukhakimov emphasized the deep-rooted fraternal ties between Turkey and Uzbekistan, based on shared history, traditions, and tourism cooperation, expressing confidence that the action plan will lead to significant progress.
