As the vibrant city of Madrid gears up for the 45th edition of FITUR, the International Tourism Fair, the spotlight is set to shine on the stunning 'Costa de Almería'. From January 22 to 26, this coastal gem will showcase its rich array of tourist offerings, emphasizing a commitment to excellence and immersive experiences.

One of the highlights of the event will be the presentation of 'La Desértica', a renowned ultramarathon that embodies the spirit of adventure in Almería. Scheduled for January 23 at the bustling Plaza del Callao, this event promises to attract both seasoned athletes and curious onlookers alike, showcasing the province's dedication to active tourism.

Fernando Giménez, Vice President of the Diputación and Tourism Deputy, emphasizes the unique opportunities that FITUR presents for Almería. "We aim to highlight our diverse tourism offerings, focusing on quality, sustainability, and the rich cultural tapestry that defines our region," he stated. With activities ranging from outdoor sports to cultural explorations, Almería is poised to captivate visitors year-round.

This year, FITUR will feature the largest Andalusian pavilion in its history, spanning over 7,200 square meters. Almería will have a prominent presence within this space, engaging with industry professionals and the public through a series of presentations and networking opportunities aimed at enhancing tourism collaboration.

In addition to promoting 'La Desértica', the Diputación will launch an ambitious cultural tourism campaign centered around the Museo del Realismo Español Contemporáneo (MUREC). The campaign, titled 'In Almería, art is part of the soul', aims to position Almería as a cultural hub, drawing attention to its artistic heritage through extensive advertising and media outreach.
