In Dubai, where the desert meets the skyscrapers, Global Village is once again preparing to become a stage for dialogue among cultures. On 14 October 2026, the popular park will open its 31th season under the theme "A More Wonderful World," promising fresh exhibits and the return of tried-and-true attractions.
Since 1997, Global Village has evolved from a modest fair into a major seasonal project attracting millions of visitors. Last season, it featured 30 pavilions representing more than 90 cultures, over 3500 retail outlets and 250 restaurants, while around 450 artists performed on its stages in more than 40 thousand shows.
The new season will run until May 2027 and will retain its focus on multicultural pavilions, live performances, shopping and family entertainment. The organizers promise new attractions and experiences, details of which will be specified closer to the opening, along with the return of beloved elements such as Gardens of the World and Dragon Kingdom.
Against the backdrop of growing tourism in the UAE, Global Village serves as a controlled venue for encountering traditions without leaving the emirate. It allows visitors to "travel" across continents in a single evening, sampling dishes and purchasing handicrafts, which is especially valuable in an era when actual journeys require considerable resources.
Notably, the park adapts to the needs of families and local residents: Tuesdays are special days for families and women, and opening hours are shifted to the evening, when the daytime heat subsides. Such details underscore the project's practical orientation toward comfort in a desert climate.
Over three decades, Global Village has become not merely entertainment but a mirror of Dubai's strategy of positioning itself as a global hub of cultural exchange. Amid competition with other theme parks in the region, success depends on a balance between spectacle and the authenticity of the cultures presented.
