Monaco All-Star Dog Show launches in Shanghai as part of the tennis Masters

The Monaco All-Star Dog Show will be held in Shanghai from 4 to 6 October 2026 as part of the Shanghai Rolex Masters carnival. Registration is already open for healthy dogs of all breeds aged from 9 months to 9 years.

The competition includes two main disciplines: a beauty contest and agility competitions. In agility, there is an intermediate level of eight tasks with a leash and an advanced level of sixteen without a leash. Participants of any level of training will be able to find a suitable category.

The total prize fund is 100 thousand yuan. The winners will receive valuable prizes, including individual gifts worth up to 2600 yuan, as well as a chance to become the official face of the event and receive invitations to interviews.

Registration gives participants tickets to the outer courts of the tennis tournament. Thus, owners will be able to combine their pet's participation with watching Masters matches.

The event is organised with the support of the Chinese Tennis Association, the Shanghai Sports Bureau, the Minhang District Government and Shanghai Jiushi. Among the partners are the Pet Culture Committee of the Chinese Association for the Management of Culture and the Shanghai Institute of Industrial Design.

According to a study by the Shanghai Hongkou District Consumer Protection Committee, the average monthly expenses of pet owners in the city are in the range of 500–1000 yuan. This creates a basis for the development of joint sports and entertainment projects.

In recent years, Shanghai has been actively developing the "sport plus pets" format. Last year, a pet-friendly zone already operated at the tournament, and this year the programme has been expanded. Such events help unite the tennis audience with the community of dog lovers.

The Monaco All-Star Dog Show is traditionally among the prestigious events of the principality, along with Formula 1 and tennis tournaments. Moving the format to Shanghai after its successful debut in 2025 could make it a regular part of the city's international calendar.
