Manufacturers such as Petstar and similar OEM factories use modular designs that reduce packaging volume during transport by 50 percent or more. This makes it possible to efficiently handle batches of 300–500 units per model while meeting the requirements of American importers for quality and certification, including CARB P2 for formaldehyde emission control.
Demand for such products in the US remains steady owing to the popularity of vertical space for cats in apartments and houses. Chinese suppliers offer competitive prices at the level of 19–24 dollars per unit for wholesale orders, which keeps the products affordable for a wide range of buyers.
The growth of exports of cat furniture from China reflects the general trend of expansion in the pet products market in North America, where Chinese manufacturers hold a significant share in the furniture and accessories segment.
