Kiki, a friendly two-year-old cat from Glasgow, is a beloved member of Kelvindale Primary School. She walks to school with the children, waits in the playground, and follows them home. The school community affectionately calls her the "unofficial school cat."
Kiki's presence creates a strong bond between students, parents, and staff. She has "100% attendance," according to the headteacher. Kiki's owner says she loves children and is very sociable.
Kiki shows her affection in her own ways. She sleeps at the bottom of Sonny's bed and enjoys being around people. She sometimes even goes into the classroom to observe the students.
Kiki is a finalist in the Cats Protection National Cat Awards 2025. She is nominated in the Connected Cats category. This category celebrates cats that bring people together. The awards ceremony will be in London on September 24, 2025.
The National Cat Awards highlight the bond between cats and people. Voting for the public's favorite finalists is open from June 16 to July 31, 2025, on the Cats Protection website. Kiki's story shows how much a cat can impact a community.
