Eight-month-old Maine Coon Olympia from the Italian province of Siena has won the World Winner 2026 title in the junior category at the prestigious FiFe World Show in Amsterdam. Among one and a half thousand participants from dozens of countries, she received the highest award, Best in Show, in her age group.
Olympia was born in early January at the Elinor Woods cattery, founded in 2015 by Eleonora Burkyanti and Erika Boschi. The cat has already managed to win the titles Kitten Champion, Junior Champion and Junior Winner at international shows. Maine Coons are one of the largest breeds of domestic cats, known for their impressive size, semi-long hair and calm, friendly character. Olympia weighs about seven kilograms and stands out for her harmonious build, which international judges have appreciated.
The Elinor Woods cattery specialises in breeding Maine Coons with an emphasis not only on the external standards of the breed, but also on the health, character and sociability of the animals. Over the years of their work, Burkyanti and Boschi have raised several generations of cats that take part in shows around the world. Olympia's success is the result of many years of work, including careful selection of breeding animals, veterinary control and daily care.
For Eleonora Burkyanti, the victory is the realisation of a long-held dream. "The dreams that you cultivate in silence year after year come true when you add passion, sacrifice and dedication to them," she noted. She stressed that the award confirms that the path they have chosen is the right one and brings enormous joy not only to them, but to all of Siena.
The FiFe World Show is the main world championship in felinology, organised by Federation Internationale Féline. This year the event took place on 24–25 October in the Amsterdam area and brought together breeders from 36 countries. The victory of the young Italian cat shows that even a small cattery from a provincial town can reach the heights with consistent work and a love of the craft.
Olympia's story is a reminder that behind every show success there is not only genetics, but also years of attentive care for the animal.
