Harz Mountains Introduce Hiking Pass for Dogs, Boosting Canine Adventures

Edited by: Dmitry Drozd

The Harzer Wandernadel launched a "Four-Paws Hiking Pass" for dogs on April 27, 2025, at Hohnstein Castle. This pass allows dog owners and their furry friends to explore 222 stamp locations in the Harz Mountains.

Dogs can earn badges for their collars or harnesses by collecting stamps. The "Four-Paws Emperor" title is available at the Harzer Wandernadel service office in Blankenburg.

Since its launch, 4,000 passes have been sold, with 14 dogs already achieving the "Four-Paws Emperor" title. This initiative caters to families with strollers and dog owners. The season opening included a hike and a special stamp. More information is available on the Harzer Wandernadel website.
