King Charles has a new furry friend named Snuff, a Lagotto Romagnolo! This Italian water dog has captured the King's heart and sparked a surge of interest in the breed. The fluffy canine is settling into royal life, exploring the estates. While it's unknown who gifted Snuff to the King, Queen Camilla, a patron of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, might have had a hand in it. She also owns a rescue dog named Moley. Lagotto Romagnolos are known for their truffle-hunting skills. Lucy Lilicrap from the Lagotto Romagnolo Club of Great Britain believes King Charles may have chosen Snuff specifically for truffle hunting, especially since Prince Philip created a truffle garden at Sandringham years ago. While the breed is gaining popularity, Lilicrap notes that there aren't many breeders, so they won't become as common as Labradors. The Lagotto Romagnolos originate from the Ravenna region in Northern Italy, a place King Charles and Queen Camilla will visit in the near future. The royal family is known to consider their pets as family members.
