Stray Dog Rosie Finally Captured After Months on the Run!

After months of evading capture, a stray dog named Rosie is finally safe! Rosie, a lab and terrier mix, had been on the run in Marion County for almost five months. Dog Warden Scott Mills spent countless hours tracking her and two other dogs, Luna and Southland.

Mills initially struggled, having only one live trap. Southland and Luna were eventually caught with the help of a special "Missy trap" provided by Rico Pet Recovery. Southland even found her forever home with a hospital worker who had been leaving out food for her! Luna, surprisingly pregnant, was also rescued along with her puppies.

Rosie, however, remained elusive. Mills dedicated four days, enduring freezing temperatures, waiting near the Missy trap. Finally, on February 4th, Rosie wandered into the trap! She is now at the Marion County Dog Pound, waiting for her forever home. The good news is that the dog pound now has its own Missy trap, thanks to donations. They are always looking for fosters and adopters to help more dogs like Rosie!
