Sharjah Honors Linguistic Studies Winners and Receives Guinness Recognition

Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, emphasized the importance of distinguished scholarly work and ongoing scientific research in various fields. He stated that this effort is a significant gain for the nation and future generations.

This statement was made during the ceremony held at the Arabic Language Academy in Sharjah, where winners of the seventh Sharjah Award for Linguistic and Lexical Studies were honored. Sheikh Al Qasimi noted that Sharjah implements well-studied programs that provide resources and opportunities for diligent researchers and students across various disciplines.

Dr. Ahmad Khalif Al-Araj won first place in the linguistics category for his work on the book 'Al-Jana Al-Dani in Letters of Meaning' by Al-Hasan bin Qasim Al-Muradi. Dr. Hala Jamal Al-Qadi secured second place for her edition of 'The Book of Verbs' by Ibn Al-Qutiyya.

In the lexicography category, Dr. Faisal Al-Hafian won first place for his book 'Dictionary of the Holy Quran; A Lexicon of Ethics'. Dr. Muhammad Abdul Razzaq received second place for his work 'Dictionary of Interpretation'.

Additionally, Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi received a certificate from the Guinness World Records for the Historical Dictionary of the Arabic Language, recognized as the largest linguistic historical project globally, comprising 127 volumes.

He expressed gratitude to all contributors to the dictionary, including researchers, editors, and the publishing house, as well as scholars in Arabic lexicography across the Arab world.

In a separate engagement, Sheikh Al Qasimi inspected agricultural operations at a wheat farm in the Mleiha area, overseeing 37 agricultural sectors spanning 1,900 hectares, utilizing modern irrigation techniques.

He also chaired a meeting of the Board of Trustees at Al Dhaid University, where Dr. Aisha Ahmed Bushleibi was promoted to professor. The board reviewed financial and academic reports and discussed partnerships with prestigious global universities.

Moreover, an agreement was signed between Al Dhaid University and the University of Liverpool to establish a veterinary medicine program, aimed at leveraging Liverpool's expertise and innovative research.
