The National Museum of Oman has initiated the 'Our Summer: Heritage and Identity' program, supported by bp Oman. This initiative aims to boost awareness of national identity and reinforce the values of Omani cultural heritage among students.
The program is divided into three age groups: children (6-11 years), school students (12-16 years), and college/university students. Throughout July 2025, interactive sessions inspired by the museum's collections will be held to develop participants' skills and creativity.
The Learning Centre is also involved in the 'Our Summer: Leadership and Creativity' program in North Al Batinah Governorate. This includes artistic sessions covering topics like coloring, traditional architecture, and Omani maritime history. These programs utilize artistic educational methods to instill national identity, extending the museum's cultural message beyond its premises.
The North Al Batinah program will be held in several wilayats, including Sohar and Liwa, reaching 240 beneficiaries. The Learning Centre will host activities for different age groups at the National Museum and Al Mouj Muscat. The Learning Centre, the first of its kind in Oman, offers various educational programs to raise public awareness of Omani heritage, including programs for schools, families, and people with disabilities.
