A recent Metroscopia study reveals that nearly half of teachers regularly encounter emotional issues in their students. Furthermore, 90% of educators express a desire for specific training in mental health and self-help strategies.
In response to this need, Viatris has launched a self-help Mental Health Guide for teachers. This guide offers simple tools to identify emotional problems in the classroom and prevent more serious situations. It provides guidance on recognizing warning signs of mental health issues, such as anxiety or sleep disorders.
The guide is designed to support educators and families, not replace healthcare professionals. Three out of four teachers identify excessive social media use as a primary trigger for emotional distress among students. However, only half of the schools have specific protocols to address these situations. Viatris's initiative reinforces its commitment to mental health within the educational environment. Addressing emotional well-being in the classroom is crucial for fostering a more humane, conscious, and sustainable education system.
