Desert X Art Club Student Exhibit Launches in Palm Desert

Edited by: Olga N

The Desert X Art Club Student Exhibit, a collaboration with an after-school program, will launch next week in Palm Desert. The exhibit features mixed media artwork by K-12 students from three Coachella Valley school districts. The public reception will be held on May 8, with the exhibit open daily from May 9-21. The free exhibit showcases artwork from the 2024-2025 Expanded Learning Opportunities Program. Participating schools include a wide range of high schools and elementary schools. Students drew inspiration from field trips to Desert X, local art studios, and the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival. The artwork includes paintings, drawings, sculpture, and photography. A short documentary by high school students will be screened at the Palm Springs Art Museum on May 10. Desert X emphasizes education, empowering young people to become artists and storytellers.
