Guinea's Minister of Higher Education, Alpha Bacar Barry, recently hosted ministers from Gambia, Chad, DRC, and Guinea-Bissau at the City of Science and Innovation in Ratoma. This event occurred during the Panafrican Conference of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie held on April 28 and 29, 2025, in Conakry. The conference focused on digital transition and pedagogical innovations.
The City of Science and Innovation aims to establish Guinea as a regional leader in environmental sustainability and scientific advancement. This project, supported by the President, promotes research and innovation within the country. The ministers who attended expressed their inspiration from the City of Science, viewing it as a hub for advanced research, innovation, and science and technology education.
The Panafrican Conference of the Agence Universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) is the main political forum created by AUF to strengthen cooperation between ministerial authorities and higher education institutions in Africa. The 2025 edition in Conakry continues the collective effort by placing digital technology and artificial intelligence (AI) at the heart of university reform strategies.
