Cuba's Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) commemorated Psychology Day on April 13th, acknowledging the significant contributions of psychology professionals to the nation's well-being. Minsap expressed gratitude to those within the health sector who demonstrate the discipline's positive impact on the quality of life for Cubans. The date was chosen in 2004 to honor the birth of Enrique Jose Varona (1849-1933), a renowned pedagogue from Camaguey. Varona's extensive work in philosophy, sociology, psychology, and education has established him as a prominent Latin American thinker.
