Edited by: Olga N

A delegation from Brno, Czech Republic, presented the 'green classroom' concept at the University of Zadar. Developed within the Archimedes project, this initiative features a 65-square-meter wooden structure designed for education and community use, fostering a connection with nature while incorporating modern technology. The presentation, attended by University of Zadar representatives, local education officials, and the principal of Stjepan Radić Elementary School Bibinje, included a live demonstration at the Velesajam in Brno. Attendees inquired about implementation, cost, and benefits of this educational model. The Czech delegation included Honorary Consul Michal Chládek, Brno City Councilor Dagmar Seidlová, and representatives from various educational institutions. The Archimedes project aims to establish a global network of interactive eco-classrooms, potentially linking classrooms in Croatia with others worldwide via a web application. Equipped with adaptable furniture for 36 students, the classroom also features an interactive whiteboard, weather station, bird feeder, and composter. The cost per classroom, excluding foundation and infrastructure, is approximately €150,000. Zadar may pursue EU funding for acquisition. The University of Zadar anticipates further collaboration with Czech educational institutions on this and related projects.
