The Consell de Mallorca has launched the 12th edition of its Craftsmanship Awards, offering a prize fund of 39,000 euros, the largest to date. This year's competition includes two new subcategories within the gastronomic craftsmanship category, bringing the total to 12.

The new subcategories are "Short-lived artisanal products" and "Long-lived artisanal products." Registration is open until July 24th. Entries must be traditional and promote healthy eating. Each category winner will receive 4,000 euros.

Entries will be judged on creativity, excellence, and tradition. Sustainability is a key factor in this edition. The most prestigious award is the Craftsmanship Award of Mallorca, with a prize of 7,000 euros, followed by the Traditional Craftsmanship Award and the Design Innovation Award, each with a prize of 5,000 euros.

Vice President Antònia Roca stated that the aim is to support and promote Mallorcan craftsmanship, both traditional and contemporary. The awards aim to inspire and value local artistry. Interested artists are encouraged to submit their work before the July 24th deadline.
